VISION

Vision: Every Woman Valued
Mission: Restoring Hope to Exploited Women Through Socially Responsible Business
Values:
1. Holistic Transformation of Lives
2. Ethically Based Business and Organizational Practice
3. Raising of Local Leadership
Elaboration of Values
We believe that a life of exploitation is not a healthy option for any woman and so we seek to help women escape this life. We know that in order to do this, women do not just need to physically leave exploitative situations, but also need help to heal the scars physically and emotionally. We desire for each woman to be empowered and take ownership over their own transformation through the resources provided by the Starfish Project, and for this transformation to affect every aspect of their being, including their relationships with their families, colleagues and friends.
As an ethically based project, we seek to have good, honest business and organizational practices that provide long-term viable employment and empowering opportunities for women. We actively pursue accountability and transparency in all of our decisions and actions. The Starfish Project seeks to be a model to its employees, customers and the community in ethical and sustainable practices.
We desire to impact the community around us, not only by raising awareness and involvement in social justice issues, but also by raising up local leadership within the Starfish Project. In order to be sustainable in the long term and remain a culturally relevant business, all foreigners and senior staff in the various roles at Starfish seek to build up and encourage local staff to take on more and more responsibility and authority within the Starfish Project. Furthermore, as far as it is possible, the Starfish Project will seek to empower women from exploitative situations in taking on greater roles and ownership within the organization.
